I am most grateful for the strong sence od community we've bulit and for our incredibly sweet and amazing choir teacher. her kindness, patience, and genuine passion for music creates an environment where everyone feel welcome and supported. The encouragement she gives us- both musically and personally- makes choir feel like a second home and inspires me every day. I am so thankful for this year's art program because of all the memories, friends, and work I have created and learned. Art is the class that I am most excited to walk into every day. Not only do we create art but we learn the history of it. This class is such a breath of fresh air I need in my school day. The memories I have made in this class will stay with me forever and will always be fun to reflect on in the future! I am proud of each and every project I have accomplished in this class with the help of Mrs.Jordan! I am so very thankful for this class in many other ways but these are the ones that matter to me the most. One of my best decisions is taking this class! - Caroline Vickery

Art Room Highlights

Pottery in Progress

Our high school art students have been busy bringing clay to life this month! Both Art I and Art II classes are exploring hand-building through coil, slab, and pinch techniques.

Art I students are creating functional pots, learning how simple shapes and techniques can form sturdy, expressive vessels.

Art II students are taking on a more advanced challenge: building ceramic houses. Their designs range from small cottages to imaginative architectural creations, all showing strong craftsmanship and creative problem-solving.

We can’t wait to share the finished pieces soon!

AP Art student, Libby Horne, presented her ongoing sustained investigation that will be submitted for AP credit. Her portfolio is mixed media, focusing on portraits that showcase her relationships and perception of childhood through today.

National Art Honor Society

The NAHS had two guest artists this month, Juliet Bravo Pottery (left) visited to show students (Emily Gaspar) how to throw on the potter's wheel and Fransesca Nash, cookie artist (right) to demonstrate royal icing to create a blueberry pie and line art on a leaf! Just in time for Thanksgiving...

A Final Note

We would like to take a special moment to recognize and remember former student, Katrina Whitworth, who recently passed away. Katrina was an important part of our Fine Arts community through her involvement in both Fine Arts Program and Color Guard. She shared her creativity, dedication, and positive spirit with everyone she worked with. Her contributions and presence continue to be felt, and we are grateful for the time she spent with us. Our thoughts are with her family and friends as we honor the impact she made on our program and on those who knew her.
